What does an architectural production designer do?

An Architectural Production Designer is responsible for translating architectural concepts and designs into detailed construction drawings and documentation. They work closely with architects and engineers to ensure that plans are technically accurate and comply with building codes and regulations. Their work includes creating floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models, often using CAD software. Production Designers also coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve design issues during the construction phase.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an architectural production designer?

To thrive as an Architectural Production Designer, you need strong technical drawing skills, proficiency in architectural design principles, and typically a degree in architecture or a related field. Mastery of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, along with knowledge of building codes and construction documentation, is essential. Job description

Job Description Summary:
The Coca-Cola Company is in the middle of a full digital transformation, and this org is at the center of it. We are building an in-house product design practice from the ground up, embedded inside cross-functional product teams that have real ownership and real mandate to change how digital experiences work at one of the world's most recognized brands.
We're building out a high team of designers that know how to deliver modern, seamless user experiences that drive impact across the business and becomes the model for how The Coca-Cola Company approaches digital transformation around the globe. That means bringing together designers who combine forward thinking with the ability to deliver quality at speed, people who can set the standard, not just meet it.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will own experience design across a portion of our business, identifying and driving meaningful changes alongside your product partners, working on everything from consumer-facing journeys to the internal tools that power sales, service, and operations. This is not a role defined by executional handoffs. You will be in discovery, shaping what gets built, and accountable for quality through delivery into live experiences that help customers and our business grow like never before.

Discovery and Iteration
  • Contribute to discovery through research synthesis, journey mapping, and rapid prototyping
  • Work with UXR to drive user research and testing sessions to validate assumptions and refine solutions
  • Use data and qualitative insight together to inform design decisions and prioritization

Experience Quality and Systems
  • Design end-to-end experiences that consider the full journey across digital and service touchpoints
  • Apply and help build shared design systems, patterns, and accessibility standards
  • Hold a high bar for quality, consistency, usability, and craft across everything you ship

Collaboration and Delivery
  • Partner with engineering to support quality implementation and iteration post-launch
  • Communicate design intent, rationale, and tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional partners
  • Engage in critique and feedback to raise the quality of the team's work collectively

What We Are Looking For
Required
  • 5 to 8 years of UX, product design, interaction design experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to clearly articulate of tradeoffs of tools or stages of design, particularly use of AI within your design process
  • A portfolio showing shipped digital experiences that solved real problems and delivered business impact
  • Strong artifacts and case studies that demonstrate skill maturity of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design for web and mobile
  • Proficiency in Figma, Figma MCP x Claude Code for design and prototyping
  • Solid grounding in user-centered design, usability principles, and accessibility standards
  • Ability to operate effectively in empowered, cross-functional teams where you own your problem space
  • Experience designing complex workflows, operational tools, or data-rich products
  • Background in enterprise or ecosystem products that span multiple user roles or touchpoints, especially call center applications
  • Exposure to AI-enabled or intelligent systems, including agentic or generative experiences
  • Experience contributing to or building design systems and shared experience frameworks

Core Skills
  • Collaborative Product Thinking: You connect user needs, business context, and technical constraints into a clear experience direction. You grasp the tradeoffs between usability, feasibility and time to value.
