GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY

The Area Sales Manager is responsible to meet or exceed sales and profit goals in North and South Carolina. The Area Sales Manager will actively promote PRESS GLASS products to increase share of existing customers and add new accounts. This individual will strengthen relationships with glazing contractors, architects and general contractors by providing excellent customer service and technical knowledge.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to meet or exceed mutually established sales, order input and profit goals.
  • Develop working relationships with customer and business partners via frequent presentations and project-specific design assistance.
  • Promote and educate customers and business partners on the features, functions and benefits of the company’s products and services.
  • Collect feedback from customers on market and company products and pricing and make recommendations to upper management.
  • Follow established sales prospecting protocol and initiate process improvement actions.
  • Service existing accounts via regular/frequent personal visits and telephone/email communication.
  • Provide information to clients and Inside Sales, Production and/or Quality team in a timely manner.
  • Frequently check customers’ needs and advise on the best solution offered by PRESS GLASS.
  • Work with the Engineering and Quality Departments to ensure that proper testing and engineering requirements are met.
  • Actively solve upcoming problems.
  • Follow-up with client inquiries to close sales.
  • Develop and monitor individual sales budgets and monthly order forecasts.
  • Perform additional assignments per the Manager’s direction.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in the glass industry, preferred in the architectural glass product sales.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in outside sales.
  • Good understanding of the glass industry standards and architectural glass products.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Willing to travel 70% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
  • Associate degree in technical field is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires regular driving, sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and keyboarding.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus.
