What is architectural 3D visualization in a remote role?

Architectural 3D Visualization is the process of creating three-dimensional digital models and renderings of buildings and spaces, often before they are constructed. In a remote role, professionals use specialized software to collaborate with architects and designers, providing realistic visualizations from anywhere in the world. This helps clients and stakeholders better understand and approve design concepts. Remote 3D visualization artists typically communicate via digital tools, submit drafts online, and use cloud-based platforms to share and refine their work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an architectural 3D visualization remote specialist?

To thrive as an Architectural 3D Visualization Remote specialist, you need strong skills in 3D modeling, rendering, and architectural design principles, typically supported by a degree in architecture, design, or a related field. Proficiency with software like Autodesk 3ds Max, SketchUp, V-Ray, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite is essential, along with familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) systems. Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail help professionals stand out, especially when collaborating remotely with clients and teams. These skills are crucial to deliver visually compelling, accurate representations that support project planning, client presentations, and effective remote collaboration.

What are some common challenges faced by remote architectural 3D visualization professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Architectural 3D Visualization professionals often encounter challenges like communication gaps with design teams and clients, managing large file transfers, and ensuring their work aligns with the project's vision. To address these, it's helpful to use collaborative platforms such as BIM or cloud-based storage for seamless file sharing and regular video meetings to clarify design intent. Staying organized and proactive in seeking feedback also ensures your visualizations meet expectations and deadlines.

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our growing Product Design team. This role is available to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US.

Design plays a pivotal role at Clio, standing alongside Product and Engineering as one of the three pillars of our Research and Development organization. Our product designers work directly with customers to understand their behaviors, needs, and workflows. They champion thoughtful, high-quality experiences as we transform how lawyers and their teams serve their clients. If you're focused on shipping value to customers with an opportunity to revolutionize an industry, you've found your next team.

About the role

The Clio Manage team is a dedicated group of customer-centric system thinkers committed to redefining legal service experiences for law professionals. We are on a mission to make legal practice management more insight driven and intelligently (AI) orchestrated.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will define and execute the experience strategy for real-time insights, complex reporting, and analytics. You will join a team focused on developing tools that help users understand their business performance across critical areas like firm growth, case management, finance and firm operations. This role sits at the vital intersection of data visualization, content design, and complex data architecture.

You will be responsible for shaping the product vision alongside Product Management and Engineering. You will lead the end-to-end design process-from strategic discovery and framing to development, launch, and iteration. The ideal candidate grounds decisions in deep customer empathy, translates ambiguity into clear direction, and partners cross-functionally to drive meaningful outcomes.

What you'll do
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define and execute on experience design strategy and success metrics, using research and insights to prioritize what matters most to customers and the business.

  • Design seamless, end-to-end experiences across firm growth, case management, and financial reporting workflows.

  • Create actionable insights that unlock the power of data, delivering strategic and operational improvements to law firms.

  • Translate complex data relationships and legal domain logic into clear, scalable UI patterns for firms of all sizes.

  • Experience designing AI-powered features or workflows, with a strong understanding of user-centered applications of machine learning and generative AI.

  • Shape feature-decisions through research and prototyping, partnering closely with product and engineering

  • Build strong customer intuition through direct engagement, and advocate for customer needs in trade-offs, sequencing, and cross-functional decision-making.

  • Raise the quality bar through polished, accessible, and cohesive experiences - and push beyond "good enough" toward best-in-class interaction design.

  • Drive alignment through crisp storytelling, clear decision framing, and proactive collaboration across cross-functional teams.

What you bring
  • 6+ years of experience designing digital products, B2B SaaS experience is preferred, but not required.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing data-heavy products, such as dashboards and analytics tools, where surfacing timely information is key.

  • The ability to simplify complex domain logic into intuitive interfaces for non-technical users.

  • Experience partnering with data and platform teams where structural and performance constraints are central to design.

  • Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design with a track record of high-quality execution.

  • A customer-centric approach with the ability to translate insights into actionable, strategic design directions.

  • Highly capable in design and prototyping tools and solid use of AI tools in your process (e.g., Figma Make, Claude, Gemini, etc.)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including clear articulation of rationale and trade-offs.

  • A collaborative, low-ego partner - you facilitate alignment, clarify trade-offs, and drive confident execution.
