Job description

Job Description
We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you're looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people's lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.
In this position...
Ford Motor Company is seeking a strategic and highly collaborative Business Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This role is specifically designed to bridge the gap between complex technical solutions (SAP S/4HANA, Legacy Systems) and business value streams (Finance, Purchasing, etc.).
The successful candidate will serve as a primary liaison, ensuring that architecture is not only technically sound but also effectively communicated and governed based on enterprise standards. You will focus on driving consistency, transparency, and alignment through communication and collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a required four-day onsite presence each week
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a Strategic Translator: Bridge the communication gap between Product Owners, Technical Architects, and Business Leads to ensure technical roadmaps align with business value streams.
  • Facilitate Alignment: Lead blueprinting sessions and joint working sessions to drive consensus on future-state business models and system integrations.
  • Trusted Advisor: Develop deep relationships across organizational boundaries to become a key contributor to portfolio planning and integration by communicating the relationship between strategic initiatives, business processes, applications and technologies.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Develop and deliver training materials and "learning sessions" to help both technical and business audiences understand architecture standards and methodologies.

Governance & Standards
  • Establish Frameworks: Develop and implement architecture processes, standards, and methodologies that ensure data integrity and architectural consistency across the Ford ecosystem.
  • Architecture Integrity: Perform gap analysis and lead "Architecture Governance" reviews to ensure that project-level deliverables align with the enterprise standards.
  • Portfolio Alignment: Pair with Portfolio Architects to ensure that business capability models and process maps are standardized and reusable across different product teams.
  • Agile Governance: Manage architectural deliverables within Jira, ensuring that governance requirements are met without slowing down agile delivery cycles.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 1 year specifically in a Business Architecture or Business Analyst role.
  • 2+ years of Communication Mastery: Proven track record of presenting Information Technology concepts to business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • 1+ year Process Modeling: Demonstrated experience in strategy planning, requirements management, and conceptual business modeling (Current vs. Future State).

Even better, you may have...
  • Master's Degree
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture tools (e.g., YouDesign, Miro, Signavio, LeanIX, Microsoft Visio).
  • Experience with large-scale ERP transformations, specifically involving SAP S/4HANA.
  • Deep understanding of industry-standard frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, BPMN, or APQC.
  • Familiarity with Ford-specific value streams, particularly in Finance (Plan to Report), Purchasing or Parts Supply & Logistics.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up childcare and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is a salary grade 7 or 8 and ranges from $86,600- 166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
