DMI, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect Engineer to lead the modernization of mission-critical systems for a federal law enforcement organization. This role will serve as the principal technical authority driving large-scale migration from on-premises infrastructure to a secure Microsoft Azure sovereign cloud environment. You will shape the future-state architecture across multiple security domains while ensuring uninterrupted mission operations throughout the transition. If you have deep Azure expertise, experience leading enterprise cloud migrations, and thrive in high-security environments, this is a rare opportunity to influence enterprise-wide transformation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Enterprise Cloud Migration
    • Architect and execute phased migration from on-premises systems to Microsoft Azure (sovereign cloud).
    • Design secure hybrid environments supporting multiple classification domains.
    • Lead virtualization migrations (VMware to Azure) and modernization of legacy infrastructure.
    • Ensure high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and operational continuity.
  • Architect Secure, Scalable Solutions
    • Design cloud-native architectures leveraging containers, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
    • Implement Zero Trust principles, identity security, network segmentation, and continuous monitoring.
    • Support security authorization processes and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Modernize Applications & Data
    • Oversee migration of enterprise Microsoft services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune).
    • Architect scalable cloud data solutions (data lakes, warehouses, hybrid models).
    • Design storage modernization strategies (SAN/NAS to cloud).
  • Serve as Technical Authority
    • Advise senior leadership on cloud strategy and modernization roadmaps.
    • Develop architectural standards and guide engineering teams.
    • Mentor technical staff and support knowledge transfer during transformation.

Education and Years of Experience:ย ย 

  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise cloud architecture experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale (500+ user) cloud migrations.
  • Experience designing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Background in DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal IT environments.

Required Skills & Certifications:ย 

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or equivalent.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE (or DoD 8140-compliant certification).
  • Must meet DoD Cyber Workforce baseline requirements.

Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires eligibility for and adjudication to a TS/SCI clearance level at contract start.
    • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required.
    • SCI eligibility required (CI Polygraph may be required).

Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen
