Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Deputy of Residential Services is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Residential Directors and provides leadership

and oversight for all Community Living Arrangements (CLA), Continuous Residential Support (CRS), and wraparound day

service programs. The role ensures that Residential Directors are fulfilling their supervisory responsibilities, including conducting

and documenting regular staff meetings, ensuring compliance and providing quality services. Ensure confidentiality as required

by law and the Arc and DDS policies and procedures which include maintaining records, conversations, correspondence (regarding

program participants and staff) confidential.


Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm and on call

Essential Functions:

  • This highly visible role requires day-to-day leadership and oversight of Residential Directors.
  • Support Residential Directors in ensuring residents' needs are met through clinical services and implementation
    of clinical recommendations.
  • Oversee Residential Directors, Senior Residential Managers, Residential Managers, and staff in-service training (Relias) and documentation (Therap).
  • Ensure that all Managers and direct care staff are thoroughly oriented in their roles.
  • Create and oversee implementation of master schedules in each group home.
  • Ensure that all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual QA processes are carried out by Managers and Directors.
  • Submit CLA licensing packets to DDS and plans of correction as needed.
  • Oversee QSR recommendation implementation and completion of agency response in the required time frame.
  • Collaborate with DCF, DDS, school systems, other providers, Agency Nursing, and each individual's full team.
  • Provide guidance in crisis situations to Directors, Managers, nursing and clinical staff.
  • Re-assign and deploy staff in emergency situations.
  • Facilitate intake and discharge of residents, including assessment of potential residents.
  • Facilitate all DDS licensing and QSR reviews; ensure homes follow DDS licensing regulations and agency policy.
  • Provide timely communication of all agency and department related items.
  • Attend periodic, weekly and agency-wide meetings on new or current services, programs, compliance and other topics critical to successful operations.
  • Develop and maintain an annual schedule for monthly Managers’ meetings. Conduct monthly Residential Managers’ meetings with agendas and minutes
  • Recommend and participate in the development of policy and SOPs as needed
  • Represent the agency at external meetings and events as requested.
  • Exercise hire/promote/transfer/discipline/suspend/terminate authority in compliance with The Arc policies and procedures
  • Address performance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Complete employee evaluations and goal setting

  • Keep supervisor informed of any significant events or the need to modify any area of the operation/activity.
  • Serve as a positive and appropriate role model for staff and individuals.
  • Provide advocacy for individuals based on their personal choice and their individual plan.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.
  • Respond to need of participants, families, and providers in a timely and professional man

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of human services; including 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and training is acceptable.
