Job Summary:
The Scheduler I is responsible for leading the development of American Rheinmetall (AR) project and program development schedules in support of Program management and product development projects. The role is critical as a lead position for execution of DoD funded projects especially those programs that require resource loaded schedules and Earned Value Management. The position will interface with Project Finance and Program Management in the development of process and procedures for developing DoD compliant program schedules. In addition, the Scheduler III responsibilities include recommending corrective actions, integrating program risks, and training.
Essential Functions:

  • Undertake lead responsibilities for the development Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development, monitoring and control on large complex Combat Vehicle development programs with require the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) or EVM principles and practice.
  • Ensure compliance with and continued improvement of AR processes, procedures, and systems compliant to:
    • DoD Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule Preparation and Use Guide (10/21/15)
    • MIL-STD-881
    • DI-MGMT-81861A, the DoD EVMS Interpretation Guide (2/18/15)
    • DoD IPMDAR Implementation Guide (2/5/16)
    • DCMA-EA PAM 200.1
  • Lead the execution of Program Management Baseline (PMB) changes through a Baseline Change process.
  • Lead training and provide assistance to Cost Account Managers (CAM) within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) in the development of resource loaded schedules, quantifiable back-up data, and performance.
  • Communicate schedule status, orally and in writing, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform Critical Path and Schedule Risk Analysis and communicate status.
  • Support Project Finance Manager and Finance Director to create and maintain monthly-consolidated dashboard for AR.
  • Assist Program Management by supporting the preparation of reports to assist in the management of projects.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Managing Director, AR or his/her delegate.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Occasional travel to Europe may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of scheduling basics and best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Earned Value Management metrics and best practices.
  • Ability to anticipate, plan and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tackle tough problems with complex solutions.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business Administration
Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 5+ years' experience in DoD Contract Program Scheduling
  • Experience using Scheduling Software (MS Project, Deltek Open Plan, Primavera)
  • Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and/or Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) Certification

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Desired, Masters' Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business Administration
