Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting. This role is critical to supporting day-to-day financial operations, job costing, invoicing, and ensuring compliance with company and industry financial standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.

Process and track project-related expenses, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.

Use Procore to manage financial documentation, cost tracking, and billing for multiple construction projects.

Assist with job costing, budget tracking, and monthly financial reporting.

Prepare and issue progress billings, lien releases, and payment applications in accordance with contract terms.

Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely payments.

Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable regulations.

Support CPA or accounting team during audits, year-end close, and tax preparation.


Qualifications:

2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Strong proficiency in Procore, and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Viewpoint.

Solid understanding of job costing, contract billing, and construction pay applications.
