Job description

  • This position is for our C shift (12hr swing shift - 7a-7p)
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Forklift experience preferred, but not required

OVERALL GOALS

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism as well as handle general administrative duties.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all procedures and systems.
  • Maintain great people and business skills.
  • Work as a team to build solid working relationships. 
  • Follow all safety rules for department and entire facility.
  • General housekeeping as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Secure and check out assigned lift truck to operate during shift
  • Gather paperwork and information that will be needed to perform job including trays, pads, stretch film, packing lists, envelopes, pack out sheets, waste sheets, pens, tickets for the printer and any other items that may be needed.
  • Once yarn buggies complete inspection by lab they are ready to pack. Identify buggies with a colored mark through the label, as these are released for packing.
  • Begin packing the yarn combs from the buggy to the shrink wrap machine 3 layers high.
  • Match the extra label on the buggy to the layered yarn combs and place it on top of the case.
  • Shrink wrap the case. After wrapping, match the label you placed on top of the case with a lot number by looking it up in the computer. Enter the information for that lot to include weight of the packed case. Print label from computer and place it on the work ticket.
  • Enter your production information on the data record sheets provided.
  • Push the case of yarn to the automated conveyer which will carry it to the end of the track.
  • Repeat this process throughout your shift. As the conveyer track fills up, remove yarn cases with lift truck and take to assigned area of the warehouse.
  • In the last 30 minutes of shift, stop packing and pick up your area, recording waste.
  • Return assigned lift truck to battery charger that matches the lift truck number, lock the brake and plug in the charger cord.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, safety rules and instructions which are posted in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Operators, Crew Leaders, Supervisors and Managers.
