Job Title: Director - Information Services (Healthcare IT)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director - Information Services to lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of healthcare technology applications and services. This role will be responsible for developing business strategies, improving application service delivery, and ensuring the effective use of technology to support healthcare operations. The ideal candidate will provide leadership across multiple initiatives, oversee system improvements, and work closely with business and clinical stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support business strategies related to Information Services programs and initiatives.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of critical healthcare systems and applications.
  • Drive continuous process improvement in the delivery and support of application services.
  • Monitor, manage, and report operational performance to support efficient planning and resource utilization.
  • Oversee the analysis and evaluation of current systems and workflows and implement improvements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business units and leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to establish direction, priorities, and program expectations.
  • Establish and monitor end-user support service levels and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Track and report performance metrics related to technology services and user support.
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop team members to deliver high-quality technology services.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to direct reports, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental and organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging healthcare technology trends and incorporate best practices into operations.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and support innovation in a cost-effective manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs.
  • May be required to work outside standard business hours during system implementations or critical incidents.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Information Technology leadership role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading implementation and optimization initiatives in complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems and application services.
  • Experience managing teams and delivering technology services within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proven experience in resource planning, budgeting, and financial management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Epic and related healthcare applications.
  • Knowledge of ITIL support and service delivery frameworks; ITIL certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare operations and clinical systems.
  • Experience managing large departmental budgets and forecasting financial requirements.
