Job description

Do you enjoy working outside? Wheatland Electric is looking for a safety minded individual to work mostly outside as an Apprentice or Journeyman Lineworker. This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and CDL Physical Card for operating commercial vehicles. This position provides on-the-job training for the safe and efficient construction, replacement, operations, and maintenance of Wheatland's electrical system. Apprentice or Journey Lineworker must be able to climb poles, perform pole top rescue, lift heavy objects, and be able to work in weather extremes. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be detail oriented. Nights, weekends, or holidays may be required. Successful applicant will be working with the public and employees and will be required to live within the Garden City service area. The full job description that follows is for a fully qualified Journey Lineworker.

Finalist will be required to successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background check, and driver's license check.
