Summary

The Production Apprentice will work with experienced production personnel to gain an understanding of basic industry processes, equipment, and procedures. The person in the position may work in a varity of departments ranging from Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, Fulfillment, Press Room, Production Planning, and Shipping and Receiving.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Shadow and work with assigned production staff members to learn the interworkings of production operations
  • Receive on-the-job training along with constructive, on-going feedback for personal and professional development
  • Become familiar with the types of language used in communication within the industry
  • Build professional relationships with fellow associates
  • Work on assigned specialty projects designed to show practical, industry related work experiences
  • Maintain a knowledge log to formally document everything learned within scope of program
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Identify risks and provide proactive risk assessments 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma, completion of GED, or manufacturing experience highly desirable
  • Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity
  • Take personal responsibility for productivity, quality and timeliness of work
  • Challenge conventional practices and use creativity and information to lead, innovate, problem
  • solve, and implement ideas to contribute to the growth of the organization

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
