Job description

Job Title: Electrician A-Class
Pay: $40.00
Sign-On bonus: $1,000

Job Description:
Marine electricians install, service, and repair electrical systems on naval and commercial vessels built at the shipyard. They install and link wiring, install power distribution, install lighting, navigation, and communications equipment, and set up all electrical components to safety standards as well as to U.S. Navy or Coast Guard specifications. They also perform inspections, check electrical circuits, and fix defective equipment to keep vessels in working and mission-capable condition. In addition, marine electricians work with engineers, welders, and other tradesmen to integrate electrical systems into the design of new ships.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in AC/DC installations.
• Proficiency with electrical systems (machinery shutdown, navigational and internal communications, PLC systems).
• Skilled in AC/DC and control system terminations.
• Knowledge of cabling systems installation per marine, Navy, and Coast Guard standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
• Formal electrical training (apprenticeship or similar) preferred.
• Shipbuilding and commissioning experience preferred.
• High School Diploma / GED (or two years maritime experience) required

Safety & Environmental Factors:
All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
