The Role
Production support electricians are largely responsible for building, installing, repairing, and maintaining temporary lighting and power distribution equipment including cable assemblies, extensions, and temporary telephone and announcement systems. They also support the installation and maintenance of temporary light and power installations across various environtments, including facilities, pier-side operations, aboard ships, and within production shops. In addition, Production Support Electricians troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Must Have
  • 2 or more years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Knowledge of temporary lighting and power distribution systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Experience with cable assemblies, extensions, and basic electrical components
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical systems and equipment
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures (e.g., lockout/tagout)
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions
  • Willingness to work in various settings, including facilities, pier-side, and aboard ships
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work overtime if needed

Knowledge of Commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred, familiarity with NEC and load calculations/cable selection.
Competent in the use of electrical and/or electronic test equipment i.e.: Multimeter, Megger Insulation Tester, Clamp-Amp, Phase Rotation Tester, Thermal Imager
Nice to Have
Current OSHA 10 or 30 ceritification
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Electrical Certification, apprenticeship, or trade school training
Previous experience in a shipyard, naval, or defense contracting environment
