Project Engineer – Commercial Construction Project Support


Job Overview:

  • Company: AEC, Inc.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $75+per year.  Hiring Salary will be based on work experience and skill set.  (Performance-based bonus eligible)
  • Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time

The Opportunity:

You will play an integral role in supporting complex commercial construction projects alongside our Project Managers. This dynamic position gives you the platform to track high-impact builds, refine your project management expertise, and grow within a supportive environment with no ceilings to your career potential. You will join a collaborative culture focused on team success and solving our clients' toughest pre-construction challenges.


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Review construction drawings, project contracts, and initial submittal data to identify complete scopes of work.
  • Coordinate and verify shop drawings to ensure total accuracy relative to bid specifications and client agreements.
  • Monitor active project schedules, track critical deadlines, and proactively alert Project Managers to potential areas of concern.
  • Draft detailed Change Orders in Sage construction software to account for scope revisions accurately.
  • Collaborate directly with Project Managers to manage client communications, daily project updates, and field reports.
  • Verify that all specialized interior installation materials are ordered and delivered on schedule before installation.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years of related experience supporting commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and locate project scope within complex construction drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of tracking multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong motivation to learn, ask questions, and offer support to team members.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Familiarity with Sage construction management software or similar project management tools.
  • Practical background or experience in commercial carpentry, trade estimation, or interior finishes.
