Apprentice Simulator Technician information

What is an apprentice simulator technician?

Apprentice Simulator Technicians are entry-level professionals who assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of simulation equipment used for training in industries such as aviation, healthcare, or manufacturing. They work under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and calibrate simulators. This role often involves hands-on technical tasks, basic computer work, and following safety protocols. As apprentices, they receive on-the-job training and may also attend technical courses to build their expertise.

What does an apprentice simulator technician do?

As an Apprentice Simulator Technician, you will likely spend your first year assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of simulation equipment under the guidance of senior technicians. Your daily responsibilities may include performing routine inspections, calibrating hardware, updating software, and documenting maintenance activities. You'll also collaborate closely with instructors and engineers to ensure simulators function correctly for training sessions. This hands-on experience helps you build technical skills and become familiar with industry standards and safety protocols.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an apprentice simulator technician?
