Position Summary: Install and maintain electricity metering and recording devices to ensure compliance with the accuracy standards set by LCEC and relevant regulatory requirements. This involves rigorous testing, calibration, and routine maintenance to uphold precision in measurements and reliability in data collection, thereby supporting effective energy management and regulatory compliance. Position Responsibilities
- Install, test, maintain & repair electricity meters & associated equipment, ensuring installations are in accordance with expected loads. Ensure metering equipment accurately measures energy & demand information for revenue billing purposes.
- Conduct voltage surveys and analyze test results. Detect & correct abnormal voltage conditions.
- Conduct dielectric testing of aerial devices and underground cable to ensure the electrical integrity of aerial devices and underground cable and ensure that aerial devices comply with OSHA standards.
- Respond to after-hours work needs and assist with coordinating the emergency repair of the electric system to respond within the established time frame to consumer and electric system needs and restore service in a timely manner following an outage.
- Complete all work in conformance w/ LCEC's Accident Prevention Rules.
- Responsible for the performance of assigned work in accordance with LCEC standards and practices.
- Work in emergency storm situations (i.e. hurricanes) and work long hours (>12 hours per day) for many continuous days/weeks as needed.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)
- Apprenticeship; Completion of a Meter Journeyman Apprenticeship program. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic computer skills, including ability to navigate within Windows environment to create, open and close files or applications using a mouse. (Required)
- Familiar with LCEC Meter Testing Software Packages including MeterMate, WattNet Express, L&G 1132, and operation of a WECO test board. (Preferred)
- Familiar with LCEC Voltage Monitoring software packages including PMI. (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver License, Valid in State Florida driver license or ability to obtain w/in 30 days of employment. (Required)
