Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a talented Part-Time Journeyman HVAC Mechanic for the DOE in Germantown, MD. The HVAC Mechanic will operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair and perform routine reoccurring preventive maintenance services to base building HVAC and other related mechanical equipment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99. The schedule: Saturday 6:00am - 2:00pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Installs, services and repairs environment-control systems in commercial buildings, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.
• Mounts compressor and condenser units on platforms or floor using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, the candidate must be familiar with Screw Type and Reciprocating Chiller.
• Installs, services, and maintains environmental equipment/control systems.
• Extensive knowledge of packaged direct expansion units, split systems, chilled water piping systems, DDC, pneumatic, and electric controls a must.
• Have good trouble shooting skills with electrical circuits/components for refrigeration equipment and refrigerate piping systems.
• Be able to read both ladder and line wiring diagrams.
• Assist estimators with HVAC layout within building environment.
• Be able to communicate, work well with customers/co-workers, and handle being under pressure at times.
• Have good organizational skills with completing paperwork and managing refrigeration/parts inventory.
• Average skill level with rigging, handling, and moving equipment. Seek out and correct potential problems before they occur
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and concerns is a must
Qualifications
• Must have HVAC Journeyman License (MD)
• Must have or be able to obtain Government Clearance (L Level)
• Must have CFC Universal certificate.
• Siemens Apogee Factory training and/or JCI Metasys Factory Training preferred
• Formal apprenticeship with 4 or more years of training.
• Have at least 5 years of experience as a Journeyman in servicing and repair of equipment.
• Accomplish all other assigned duties
