Job description:

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sprinkler Fitter specializing in Fire Suppression Systems to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems across various construction and manufacturing sites. Your expertise will ensure that fire suppression systems are installed according to industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills and mechanical knowledge to contribute to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to fire sprinkler systems and piping layouts.
  • Install, assemble, and maintain fire suppression systems using appropriate tools and techniques, including pipe threading, soldering, and tube bending.
  • Perform welding operations such as MIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and welding to secure piping and system components in accordance with ASME codes & standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and rigging equipment to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install piping networks.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of installed systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing facilities while adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and specifications.

Skills

  • Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, TIG, welding; experience with welding codes & standards such as ASME is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, pipeline installation, and tube bending.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and system diagrams accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude combined with experience in construction site environments or manufacturing settings.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, pipe threading machines, and rigging gear.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe sizes and system layouts.
  • Familiarity with schematics related to HVAC or plumbing systems; understanding of maintenance procedures for fire suppression equipment.
  • Experience working within ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is a plus.
