Journeyman Pipefitter

Tampa, FL

MIELKE Mechanical Holdings, Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Journeyman Pipefitter to join their team in Tampa, Florida!

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full time  
  • 8-hour shift

The right candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in the trade, typically obtained over ten years, including apprenticeship and/or vocational training. This includes work commonly performed by Pipefitters, Pipefitter Welders, Refrigeration Mechanics, Sprinkler Fitters, Plumbers, and Millwrights.
  • Ability to travel to job sites across the United States and spend multiple weeks onsite as required.
  • Proficiency with computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a working knowledge of project scheduling software.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong jobsite management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities, with a focus on resource allocation and development.
  • Basic understanding of rigging to safely move piping in and around the project area.

Our Journeyman Pipefitter will:

  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install carbon and stainless-steel piping for industrial processing systems.
  • Perform mathematical calculations related to the manipulation of angles, such as rolling offsets, cutbacks of fittings, and takeout between welds and other fits.
  • Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
  • Prepare material for welding using appropriate cutting implements.
  • Follow blueprints (ISO) to construct and install related piping and operational systems.
  • Assist in inspecting materials and equipment received and maintain stored equipment as needed.
  • Motivate, coach, evaluate, and provide guidance to craft workers on the project.
  • Participate in ongoing training and career development.
  • Manage job costs to ensure profitability and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
