Job description

The Archer School for Girls seeks a Fitness and Wellness Teaching Apprentice for the 2026–2027 school year. The Fitness and Wellness Teaching Apprentice position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in teaching athletics and human development courses, from flag football and pickleball to mental health and media literacy. We are looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in these subjects.

The Teaching Apprentice gains hands-on experience by working alongside a mentor teacher to build a repertoire of forward-thinking, student-centered instructional practices. Ideal candidates have a growth mindset, a positive outlook, and a strong appreciation for the importance of contributing to a diverse and inclusive community. A passion for working with young people in a culture of teaching excellence is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching with a mentor in your discipline
  • provide teaching coverage across the curriculum
  • Participating in co-curricular school activities,
  • Providing administrative support as necessary
  • Supporting Archer Signature programs (i.e. Advanced Research, Artemis Center for Political Activism & Social Good, and Advanced Studies Symposium)

  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student collaboration and exploration.
