The Team Leader, Gas Operations, leads a team in the safe and effective management of natural gas fired power generation operations. They set objectives, improve processes, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. They foster collaboration within the team and with other departments to address operational issues and contribute to the organization's commitment to safety and continuous improvement. The Team Leader promotes a positive work environment, providing guidance and support to team members to achieve operational goals.
The Team Leader (TL) works as the frontline leader in operations. Each shift under the TL will have 4-5 operators working to operate the facility. The TL will work with 4 other TL's to provide continuous coverage of the plant and will be responsible for ensuring the safe reliable operations of all the units onsite. TL's also run the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Office for the facility. TL's work primarily day shift but also provide on-call, 24/7 rotating coverage as needed.
Qualifications
Degreed candidates are preferred to have five (5) years experience in progressively responsible assignments, demonstrating success in both technical and supervisory positions within power plant operations.
Non-degreed candidates are preferred to have ten (10) years experience in progressively responsible assignments, demonstrating success in both technical and supervisory positions within power plant operations.
Primary Duties
1) Direct and assist operators with safe and reliable unit operation.
2) Maintain LOTO, create and hang clearances as needed. Provide 100% isolation for maintenance and contractor crews.
3) Identify and troubleshoot issues with unit operation and performance and enter notifications into WMMS (SAP) as needed.
4) Work with, coordinate and direct multiple crews (maintenance, operations and contractors) as needed.
5) Help develop operator's skills and proficiencies through training and hands on instruction.
6) Maintain the operations schedule through scheduling shifts, vacations and overtime.
7) Other duties within area of responsibility as assigned.
