About this role:
We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. In this role, you will perform service work that includes troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure that all work meets high-quality standards and local codes. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners are essential for success in this position.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
  • Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
  • Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
  • Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
  • Testing for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
  • Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
  • Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
  • Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures
  • Maintaining safety equipment
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
  • Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
  • Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
  • Safety-Oriented: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Licensing: Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention, and gas piping are a plus.
The physical requirements of this job include:
  • Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
