Job description

About Us
Reframe Systems is on a mission to build net-zero carbon housing for all, at massive scale. To achieve our mission, we need to make net-zero carbon housing more affordable and we are re-imagining how housing is designed and built. Our modular building platform and highly-automated production system will drive down cost, delivery time, and embodied carbon for ADUs and multifamily housing. We are setting up our first software driven factory in the greater Boston area (Andover, MA), and have a roadmap to scale our presence nationally. We are disrupting assembly line manufacturing for housing production and are backed by leading VC firms in the industrial and construction space.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Licensed Plumber (Class 2) to join our team and play a critical role across both factory and field operations. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work in a controlled factory environment to assemble modular housing systems and participate in on-site plumbing installations during project builds. You will also contribute to the design process, providing valuable input on plumbing layouts and constructability. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow their career.
Responsibilities
  • Perform plumbing installations in modular housing units, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas piping.
  • Complete on-site plumbing connections during module installations, ensuring compliance with all codes and project specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to review plumbing layouts and provide input on system specifications and constructability.
  • Contribute to the development of shop drawings and ensure alignment with Massachusetts Plumbing Code.
  • Collaborate with production teams, field crews, and other trades to complete projects on time and with precision.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices, providing guidance and fostering skill development.
  • Ensure all plumbing work adheres to Massachusetts Plumbing Code and Reframe Systems' standards.
  • Conduct quality checks to verify system integrity and functionality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues in both factory and field environments.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to address challenges and propose solutions.

Basic Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts Licensed Plumber (Class 2) license.
  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed plumber, preferably in manufacturing, modular construction, or commercial/residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and standards, particularly the Massachusetts Plumbing Code.
  • Proficiency in plumbing tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and digital plans.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work overhead, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Career Growth Opportunities
You will have access to a pathway to achieve your Master Plumber (Class 1) license, including:
  • Tuition reimbursement for Board-approved courses.
  • Flexible scheduling for education and exam preparation.
  • Financial support for exam and licensure fees.
  • Leadership opportunities and expanded responsibilities upon licensure.

Why Join Us
At Reframe Systems, you'll be part of an innovative, mission-driven team transforming housing construction. Your work will directly contribute to delivering sustainable, net-zero modular housing at scale, addressing critical challenges in housing and climate. We value craftsmanship, teamwork, and your professional growth.
