We have an immediate need for a pipelayer on our construction team. We are a highway civil general contractor based in Oregon, specializing in government contracted street and road, highway, and airport construction, as well as retaining walls and small structures. We work with owners to deliver an excellent service throughout the state on varying sizes of projects. Our aim every day is to deliver a superior experience in professionalism, safety, value, and workmanship.
Job duties: Include laying pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Can rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Observe all safety rules and can work well within a team.
Job Location: Washington County in Hillsboro, OR, but subject to change depending on project backlog. Projects can be located anywhere in Oregon; must be willing to travel.

Install or use instruments such as lasers and pipe lasers, grade rods, or transit levels
Cut pipes to required lengths
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints
Cover pipes with earth or other materials
Install or repair sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems
Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
May operate mechanized equipment
Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement
Perform other duties, as assigned
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in plumbing or pipe laying, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five (5) years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/ technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Valid driver’s license.
