Fringe Pilates works to make Pilates more accessible to those that love and heal on the fringes of society. Our clients have often felt ignored or unwelcome at larger fitness spaces and come to us looking for a warm environment, caring instruction, and knowledgeable instructors.


To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about movement and have a fundamental understanding of the body and how it moves. The ideal candidate will bring a kind, nurturing spirit and a good sense of humor to every class, as well as a proficiency in Pilates instruction.


Responsibilities:


  • Instruct classes that are of an appropriate intensity level for the students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to reach students of different levels and body types.
  • Demonstrate how to do exercises correctly and instruct students how to correctly modify movements to meet their needs.
  • Teach students how to perform Pilates at home and inform them about available resources.
  • Communicate with other staff members in person and digitally to exchange information about Pilates classes, appropriate teaching methods, updates, events, and new resources.
  • Maintain records of student attendance and financial activities.
  • Engage in small administrative duties such as welcoming inquiring clients during shifts, accepting payment, and wiping down machines in between client sessions.


Job Requirements:


  • 400-hr Comprehensive Pilates Certification OR
  • Reformer Pilates Certification
  • Well recommended Apprentice status
  • Integrity and trustworthiness
  • A confident teaching style that reflects the values of the studio as well as your own unique personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to open and/or close the studio with confidence
  • Comfortable knowledge of the body
  • Ability to teach pre-natal and/or post-natal classes is a plus
  • Experience teaching a variety of body types and fitness levels
