Job description

Apprentice Electrician

Location: Buchanan Dam, TX
Pay Rate: $25/hour (W-2)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: 1-Year Contract (Potential FTE conversion around June/July)


About the Role

We’re seeking an Apprentice Electrician I to support fiber optic infrastructure and camera system installation work. This is an onsite driving role — operating forklifts, SkyTracks, and UTVs within the facility (no offsite driving required). Ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on, outdoor work involving conduit installation and fiber projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Run and install 1.5-inch conduit and Unistrut for fiber and camera systems

  • Pull fiber optic cables (no splicing or terminations required)

  • Assist with camera system installations (mounting and setup only)

  • Operate heavy equipment including SkyTrack, forklifts, and aerial lifts (training provided)

  • Work safely in confined spaces and at heights up to 150 ft

  • Follow all LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and fall protection safety standards


Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (conduit, fiber, or electrical installation)

  • Valid driver’s license required (non-CDL)

  • Comfortable working at heights and around water

  • Knowledge of confined space and fall protection procedures

  • Experience operating SkyTrack or aerial platforms preferred (training available)
