MACHINE OPERATOR - STAMPING AND FORMING


Your Opportunity:
Join our team of passionate, creative and enthusiastic associate partners! This position requires knowledge of metal-forming machine operation, set-up and basic maintenance, and troubleshooting. In addition, the machine operator will assist in developing new processes and documentation. Stamping, forming, and/or wire drawing experience is a plus.
What You'll Do:
  • Operate (set-up, run, monitor, and troubleshoot) machines to manufacture a diverse range of products to fulfill customer requirements, according to production orders, work instructions, best practices and drawings.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills and knowledge of mechanical assemblies/systems.
  • Develop, document, and learn new manufacturing procedures.
  • Verify conformance of raw materials and finished goods using measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, gauges and micrometers.
  • Work with small, delicate parts and material handling.
  • Assist in developing detailed, electronic process documentation.
  • Set-up tooling and monitor production machinery.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, including lubrication.
  • Navigate shop floor management computer systems to move inventory and confirm completion of work.

What You'll Need:
  • 3 or more years of mechanics or pneumatics work experience, including machine set up, repairs,
    maintenance, operation, adjustments, and tear down.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong, demonstrated mechanical ability (machine operator experience).
  • Strong manual/hands-on aptitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commitment to excellent quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated dependability.
  • Strong math skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, associate degree or certification in machine tool technology, or other completion of a mechanical trade apprenticeship program is desired.
Your Work Conditions:
  • Light to moderate physical activity; standing for extended periods of time; lifting, pushing or
    pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Observe safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to, wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and machine safety protocols.   
  • Rio Grande is a Metal -Free environment in our operations areas.   
    Schedule:
  • Standard hours are between 7 AM- 3:30 PM with limited OT
