Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a Production Machinist I to support manufacturing operations by performing precision machining and metal fabrication work. This role involves operating CNC and manual machining equipment to produce parts that meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • The ideal candidate will have machining experience, the ability to read blueprints, and a strong understanding of machining processes and measurement tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform precision machining operations on parts with straightforward configurations and tolerances.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, and instructions to determine machining processes and the sequence of operations.
  • Set up and operate machining equipment including:
  • Lathes
  • Milling machines
  • Grinders
  • Metal cutting saws
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, materials, feeds, and speeds based on job specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as:
  • Micrometers
  • Verniers
  • Gauges
  • Indicators
  • Calipers
  • Perform repetitive production work while maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Work with higher-level machinists to improve machining methods and production processes.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow all safety procedures.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of machining experience and/or training
  • Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent CNC machining experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required

Technical Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
  • Understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and materials
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters
  • Familiarity with machining reference materials such as the Machinist Handbook

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge
  • Experience with production machining environments

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
