Job Summary

Performs the work of processing maintenance needs for all Goodwill facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the essential functions of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as operational needs require.

General Facility Maintenance

  • Perform general maintenance of all Goodwill facilities, including light bulbs, paint, plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical, roofing, windows, doors, floors, drywall, and brick/masonry work.
  • Fabricate or repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Install equipment to improve energy or operational efficiency; perform general cleaning including power washing.
  • Open/close Goodwill facilities as needed.

Equipment & Machinery

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, or replace defective equipment parts; dismantle and reassemble equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and building systems following checklists (drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, etc.).
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical/electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, and machinery using appropriate hand and power tools.

Planning, Procurement & Records

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and plan repair work using blueprints, manuals, or schematic diagrams as needed.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment using PO numbers; move items to proper storage areas.
  • Estimate, record, and track type and cost of maintenance and repair work.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety regulations; follow lockout/tagout procedures each time, every time.
  • Use appropriate safety techniques for lifting and transporting goods, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
  • Maintain a clean work area; report any wrongdoing to upper management; suggest efficiency improvements as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements
