Job description

Unit Installer (Apprentice Refrigeration Technician)
As a well-known Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, Hino, and TICO dealership, we have 15 locations throughout Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Come join our hard working and long-standing branch in Justice, IL !

JOB DUTIES:
  • Working with a Senior Technician while performing mechanical repairs of refrigeration units and APUs in the shop and at customer locations.
  • Perform all levels of Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs, including identifying warranty repairs.
  • Accurately identify components that need repaired or replaced.
  • Place parts orders through our parts department as needed.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and update the customer on needed repairs
  • Identify warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order
  • Complete required documentation for work order files and customer billing by accurately logging (on and off) all repair orders via the Karmak system.
  • Always maintains a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and other applicable regulations
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Beneficial to have personal set of hand tools and basic pneumatic (or battery) tools like an impact driver and cordless drill.
  • 2+ years' experience in refrigeration, diesel, mechanical or maintenance shop is beneficial but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Able to pass DOT physical upon offer of employment.
  • Ability to carry and lift 50 to 75lbs frequently throughout a workday.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, crawl, climb, bend, and walk.
  • Ability to stand 6 to 8 hours per shift.
