Job description

Function (Scope and Main Purpose of Job)

  • Must hold Louisiana Locksmith License 

Responsible for the installation and maintenance of locks, keys and security systems throughout Live! Casino and Hotel. Duplicates keys, replaces and re-keys locks as necessary, and ensures that all security devices are in adequate working condition. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.  Typically reports to a manager. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.

SAFE: Must make guests feel SAFE and comfortable through creating a worry free, carefree experience.

FAST: Provide FAST and efficient service with accuracy. Meet service time requirements and anticipate guest needs.

FRIENDLY: Greet each guest with FRIENDLY welcomes, making eye contact and smiling. Use H.E.A.R.T. steps to ease guest concerns. Say thank you to departing guests.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

  • Install locks and closers in doors and disassemble electrical and mechanical locking devices
  • Maintain locking systems including Zephyr Locks and Keeper Systems by repairing and replacing worn springs, tumblers and other parts
  • Maintain records of company locks and keys
  • Open locks by drilling if necessary
  • Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements (skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Must hold Louisiana Locksmith License 
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness, pay attention to the needs of guests and team members at all times.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment
  • Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions 

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
  • One (1) – 3 years of experience preferred
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to push/ lift 50lbs or more
  • Must be able to stand/ walk up to 7 ½ hours per shift
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel and reach with hand and arms
  • Must be able to ascend/ descend stairs for at least 4 hours per shift
  • Require manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment
  • Exposed to hot and cold temperatures consistent with changing seasons up to 7 ½ hrs per shift

Working Conditions

  • 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees
  • Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
  • You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
