Job description

Position Purpose:
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical plant, the grounds, and the equipment of the AWM/Charis Facilities and its affiliates, and all other duties as assigned.
This position offers a variety of work schedules. Starting pay is commensurate with experience in any number of fields listed below:
  • Carpentry
  • Welding
  • Landscaping
  • Masonry

  • Framing/drywall finishing
  • Interior/exterior painting
  • Electrical
  • Automotive repair
  • Sheet metal/fabrication
  • Heavy equipment operator
  • Carpet installation
  • Roofing/trusses
  • Information technology
  • Commercial driver's license A/B endorsements
  • Operating pneumatic tools/hand tools/smaller heavy equipment

Essential Duties:
  • Performs daily maintenance duties as assigned including, but not limited to, grounds keeping, assists general maintenance of the building and grounds.
  • Assists with and/or completes independently building maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Follows directions well.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to use a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and have the physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign Statement of Faith
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required. A college degree in a related field is preferred
  • Vocational skills, apprenticeship, or military training in some of the professional skill sets listed above is preferred
  • Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Must pass all required checks.

Experience:
  • At least one full year of professional experience in some of the skill sets listed above.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
