Job description

Electrical Foreman (Industrial)

Location: La Porte, TX
Pay: $40–$47/hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift | 10-Hour Shifts

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Foreman to lead field crews on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects in the La Porte, TX area. This is a local, full-time position with no travel or per diem. Projects include ports, marine facilities, civil infrastructure, transportation, warehouses, water and wastewater treatment plants, and industrial manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crews of 4–10 electricians and apprentices on industrial electrical projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily electrical installations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Assist with project layout, scheduling, labor coordination, and material planning.
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Oversee installations involving conduit, wire pulling, terminations, electrical distribution systems, motors, motor controls, lighting systems, and underground electrical systems.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure all work meets company and project standards.
  • Manage material takeoffs, inventory, and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, labor tracking, timekeeping, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify and resolve field issues while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Mentor and develop electricians and apprentices while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience as an Electrical Foreman supervising crews of 4–10 electricians and apprentices.
  • Proven experience managing electrical projects valued at $1 million or more.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience in:
    • Industrial electrical construction
    • Civil construction
    • Marine/port environments
  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License (required).
  • Experience working with medium-voltage electrical systems up to 35kV.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Conduit installation
    • Wire pulling and terminations
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Motors and motor controls
    • Lighting systems
    • Underground electrical installations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct and participate in safety meetings, job briefings, and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure all crew members follow safe work practices and maintain compliance with project safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead by example.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Must be eligible to work on projects requiring background clearance, including schools, hospitals, and government facilities.
