Plumbing Apprentice / Junior MechanicJob Description

We are seeking motivated Plumbing Apprentices and Junior Mechanics to join our growing team. Candidates will assist experienced plumbers with commercial and residential plumbing installations while developing their skills in the trade. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on plumbing experience who are looking to grow their careers and work on projects throughout NYC.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation of plumbing systems, piping, and fixtures
  • Install and maintain PVC, PEX, copper, cast iron, and No-Hub piping systems
  • Assist with rough-in and finish plumbing work
  • Install branch lines, drain lines, waste and vent systems, hot and cold water lines
  • Assist with gas line installations and testing
  • Install sinks, toilets, faucets, showers, and various plumbing fixtures
  • Cut, measure, thread, and assemble piping systems
  • Perform brazing and soldering of copper piping
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and layout information
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Work alongside foremen and mechanics to complete projects efficiently and accurately
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
Required Skills
  • 1+ years of plumbing experience for Apprentice level
  • 3+ years of plumbing experience for Junior Mechanic level
  • Knowledge of PVC, PEX, copper, cast iron, and No-Hub systems
  • Experience with rough-in and finish plumbing
  • Ability to use common plumbing hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic layout work
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliable transportation or ability to commute to jobsites throughout NYC
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • SST 10 Certification
  • F60/G60 Certifications
  • Experience working on commercial construction projects
  • Experience with sewer, water, storm, and gas piping systems
Work Environment
  • Projects located throughout Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, and Long Island
  • Commercial and residential construction projects
  • Typical start times between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM
  • Overtime opportunities available
