SALARY RANGE: $120,000-$140,000 per school year

DEFINITION:
The Director of Instruction and Career Pathways report directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Programs and works collaboratively with building administrators and component district leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and compliant Career and Technical Education (CTE) and workforce development experiences for students. This role advances initiatives aligned with NYS Inspires and the Portrait of a Graduate, ensuring programs prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for success in college, career, and life. The Director is responsible for advancing instructional programming and career pathway initiatives that align with regional workforce needs and student outcomes. The focus of this role requires a strong understanding of NYSED CTE approval processes, Perkins grant requirements, and workforce development structures, including apprenticeships and Work-Based Learning (WBL).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide oversight of all CTE, and workforce development programs, while supporting the development and expansion of Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities and career pathways.
2. Ensure alignment with the Portrait of a Graduate and align programming with NYS Inspires, ensuring equitable, future-focused pathways that prepare all students for success in college, careers, and civic life.
3. Oversee NYSED requirements including CTE program approval/reapproval, and annual technical endorsement assessments.
4. Support key staff who are supporting workforce pathways and ensuring alignment of programming with student needs, community priorities, and regional labor market demands.
5. Manage and monitor the Perkins Grant process, including planning, implementation, and reporting.
6. Ensure full compliance with all state and federal regulations related to CTE, and workforce programs.
7. Administrative Supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in education, preferably including CTE, workforce development, or secondary/postsecondary programming.
3. Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.
4. Prior experience as an Administrator preferred.
5. Strong knowledge of NYS Inspires and Portrait of a Graduate.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong technology skills.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
9. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
