Job description

This is a hands-on, learn-by-doing role for someone interested in earning or already working toward an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. You'll work directly under a Lead Guide, supporting the daily rhythm of the classroom: helping prepare the environment, assisting with lessons, observing and documenting how children grow and learn, and pitching in wherever the day needs you. You'll also be expected to keep up your coursework alongside the job, since this role is built around the Sandhills Community College ECE degree program.

This is a great fit if you're interested in a Montessori career and want real classroom experience while you study, not just theory. This is just the start of a pathway to growth into the role you eventually want to land.

What We're Looking For

You don't need experience yet, that's the point. What we do need:

  • Genuine warmth with children and a willingness to learn

  • Comfort being outside in all kinds of weather

  • A team player who shows up ready to pitch in, not just clock in

  • Reliability: showing up on time, following through, communicating when something comes up

  • Openness to feedback and a real interest in growing as an educator - we don't expect you to come in knowing what you're doing, so this opportunity is all about leaning into being guided and mentored.

  • Someone who can contribute positively to our small community's culture--gossip and drama don'g belong here!

What You'll Get

Real classroom mentorship from an experienced Lead Guide, hands-on experience that complements your coursework, and a community that genuinely wants to see you succeed, not just fill a staffing gap.

To Apply

Tell us a little about yourself and why early childhood education is the path for you. We'd love to hear it in your own words.
