Job description

Apprentice Wood Care Technician (Path to Lead Tech)

Are you looking for more than just a paycheck?

At Leisure Time Stain & Seal, we don’t just "stain fences"—we protect and restore the centerpieces of our customers' homes. We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Apprentice Wood Care Technician who wants to master the craft of wood restoration and grow into a Lead Technician role.

If you take pride in seeing a project through from start to finish and love the satisfaction of a "job well done," you belong on our team.

The Perks of the Craft

  • 4-Day Work Week (Mon–Thurs): We value your time. Work hard for four days and enjoy a consistent 3-day weekend.
  • A Career Path, Not a Job: We are looking for our next Lead Technician. We provide the training; you provide the drive.
  • Outdoor Office: Spend your days in the fresh air and sunshine, working at various beautiful locations.
  • Weekly Pay & Incentives: Competitive weekly pay plus multiple bonus and commission opportunities for high performance.
  • A "Family-First" Culture: We are a team that supports one another. No "jerk bosses" or corporate red tape—just good people doing great work.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a physical, rewarding role that requires both brawn and brains. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Restoration: Pressure washing and soft washing homes, roofs, and decks to prepare them for treatment.
  • Craftsmanship: Sanding and staining exterior wood (fences, decks, log cabins) to our "Top-Notch" quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Performing minor repairs on decks and fences to ensure structural integrity.
  • Precision: Maintaining equipment and reporting project status with high accuracy.
  • Safety & Logistics: Managing tools and adhering to safety protocols on every job site.

Who You Are (Our Ideal Candidate)

  • Detail-Obsessed: You notice the small things—a missed spot, a loose board, or an uncleaned tool—and you fix them without being asked.
  • Hard-Working: You enjoy physical labor and aren't afraid of "feeling the burn" after a productive day.
  • Growth-Minded: You want to learn the business and eventually lead your own crew.
  • Reliable: You show up on time, every time, with a positive attitude.
  • Professional: You can communicate clearly with teammates and provide stellar service to our customers.

Position Requirements

Physical Ability Must be able to lift heavy items and handle a physically demanding outdoor workload.

Height Comfort Ability to perform occasional ladder and lift work.

Transportation Reliable transportation to reach various job sites.

Integrity Must pass a background check and have a clean driving record

Schedule Full availability for our Monday–Thursday schedule. Sometimes Friday as needed due to weather delays

Ready to Lead? If you’re tired of "boring" and want to join a fast-paced company where your attention to detail is actually rewarded, we want to meet you. Let’s build something great together.

When you apply, please include the word 'SUNSHINE' anywhere in the questionnaire.
