POSITION BACKGROUND:
The Shop Foreman is responsible forthe supervision of all shop personnel, scheduling, prioritizing and assigningthe resources required to ensure all work orders completed efficiently andwithin the specified time frame. Working with internal clients to determinerequired specifications for equipment maintenance work orders. The Shop Foremanwill be responsible for ensuring that all top performing equipment is availableto the Rentals and Project teams.
CORE DUTIES:
Daily Shop Operations
Determine the correct type oftools/equipment to be used for a specific task
Effectively manage, schedule andprioritize maintenance work orders and shop personnel
Ensure that buildings, facilities andsafety systems are routinely inspected and maintained
Ensure tools and equipment areavailable and in good working order
Identify faulty/damaged equipmentand/or defective materials and delegate repairs
Inspect and troubleshoot equipmentfor damage when returned from field, preparing equipment reports and estimatedservice costs as necessary
Liaise with other Ketek departmentsto facilitate repairs (electrical, manufacturing)
Mentor and assist apprentices andpersonnel as required
Oversee completion of Pre-Job SafetyInstructions/Job Safety and Hazard Assessments and Proactive Safety Reports
Perform routine housekeeping dutiesin the shop and yard
Utilize checklists, inspections, workprocedures and safety guidelines to complete tasks
Other Duties
Develop work procedures, forms andinspections for various Ketek equipment and systems
Successfully complete safety trainingas required on an ongoing basis
Represent Ketek in a light that iscommensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and MissionStatements
Observe all safety procedures and useproper Personal Protective Equipment
Be considerate of the needs of ourcommunity and the environment
Perform other related duties asrequired

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required
Red Seal Journeyman certification inrelated discipline is prefered but not necessary (Mechanic, Welding,Millwright, or Electrician)
Electrical and mechanical aptitude
Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word)
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence andclean driver's abstract
Ability to operate required equipmentin a safe and responsible manner
Ability to deal with the public in apositive, courteous, and respectful manner
Ability to handle multiple tasks andfrequent demanding deadlines
Ability to handle changing schedulesand priorities, with high-level prioritization skills
Strong work ethic and organizationalplanning skills with attention to detail
Effective verbaland listening communication skills
Preferred
Minimum 3 years' experiencein the oil and/or construction field
Experience and knowledge of Ketekequipment (or similar) is prefered
Diesel engine troubleshootingexperience
Overhead crane experience
Loader experience
Forklift experience.

Prolonged exposure to computerscreens
Moderate to heavy lifting (up to50lbs) may be required
Use of mechanical aids: overheadcrane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required
Regular exposure to loud noises.Hearing protection is provided when needed
Potential exposure to acetylene gas,fumes, oil, and paint residue
Work Environment
Yard/Shop environment (100%)
May be required to work weekends andoutside of regular office hours
Will be required to work outside inall different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
