Are you a highly experienced residential roofing mechanic who doesn't need instruction on how to install any residential roofing component?


Are you comfortable installing skylights, windows, and performing other residential home exterior work like siding?

Leak Stoppers Inc., a GAF Certified roofing company, is one of Long Island's highest rated roofing & waterproofing service providers and we are currently looking for a highly experienced residential roofing mechanic who is capable of performing all phases of residential roofing, including repairs.


Along with full residential roof installations, we specialize in advanced leak analysis & waterproofing of residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial complexes.


Our work includes a wide range of tasks in these environments such as installations of skylights & windows, masonry of chimneys, or insulating an attic for proper climate acclimation.


We also have a heavy focus on customer service, doing our best to make sure every client has the best experience possible, so it's important to be friendly and wanting to keep customers very happy.


The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in residential roofing and construction, with the ability to work on various projects. We are seeking an experienced roofing mechanic who can lead and help train apprentice-level employees and helpers while performing all aspects of roofing.


This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork. As a Roofing Mechanic with Leak Stoppers Inc., you will be a valued team member responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems.


This role is required to be able to tar, caulk, shingle, and handle all aspects of residential roofing and related construction tasks.


Duties

  • Install and repair roofing systems including low-slope roofs, flat roofs, and shingles
  • Install and repair building components including Windows, Skylights, and Siding
  • Conduct inspections of roofs and components to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications
  • Utilize various tools and equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols
  • Perform carpentry tasks as needed such as framing, including metal stud framing and trim carpentry
  • Fabricate and build components required for roofing installations
  • Restore existing roofing systems to extend their lifespan
  • Help train helpers / apprentices


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a residential roofing mechanic
  • Strong skills in frame carpentry, trim carpentry, remodeling, and maintenance person tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
  • Valid driver's license is REQUIRED for travel between shop and job sites


Bonus Experience:

  • OSHA NYC-SST Certified (10-hour, 30-hour, or 40-hour course)
  • Commercial Roofing Experience (TPO, EPDM, etc.)
  • GAF Roofing Product Experience / Training
  • Speaking with customers (Explaining Products / Answering questions / etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • General Residential or Commercial Construction (Carpentry, Sheetrocking, etc.)
  • Project Management experience
