 Entry Level Apprentice Technician 

GENERAL JOB INFORMATION:     Primary goal is to support the department's goal of "minimizing production downtime". This will be accomplished by performing preventative maintenance tasks with a high level detail.  A long term potential and desire to become a maintenance technician is highly preferred but not required. We are looking for the type of person who enjoys working with mechanical/automotive repairs

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS MUST POSSES:

  • Strong Mechanical skills
    • Knows the right tool for the job 
  • A high level of self-motivation
  • Strong Organization skills
  • Great attention to detail
    • Will be spending most of the shift cleaning and testing inspecting equipment  
  • General computer proficiency
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment and multi-task regularly
  • Ability to work weekends and other varied shifts as assigned on short notice
  • Understands and can identify JELD-WEN PIR and other process specs and tolerances
  • Must be able to start and run all major equipment
  • Perfect attendance is required to obtain and hold position.

Maintenance Apprentice

The goal of this position is to hire an entry level maintenance person. The apprentice will have minimal maintenance background but has experience in a closely related field and mechanical aptitude. The maintenance apprentice focus will be on preventive maintenance and minor projects. The apprentice will assist techs on trouble calls and major repairs as well. They will learn and grow their skills by taking notes and working closely with veteran technicians. They will use manuals to gain knowledge about PM tasks and give input on changes to the program. The apprentice will enter and maintain records using CMMS software and enter work orders for follow up actions. This position will require availability for weekend and off shift work. This person will have high level of personal accountability. They will take ownership of their machines and take pride in their performance and their esthetic condition. This will be achieved by communicating with EE, leads, management, and research using CMMS history. They will follow all safety protocols and maintain good attendance record.
