About The Opportunity
Fire Systems of Michigan is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lead Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team in Novi, MI. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire safety codes. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent documentation skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
About the Opportunity
Fire Systems of Michigan is currently hiring a Technician Apprentice for the Fire Sprinkler division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand and essential trade. Fire Systems of Michigan will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician.
We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand, and it can be a long-term career with training, certifications and years of quality hard work.
Compensation
  • This is an Hourly position and the pay rate is contingent experience and background. It will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Potential Quarterly Bonuses
  • All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week

Qualifications
  • A current valid driver's license with 3 or less points is required.
  • Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
  • Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.
  • Capable and willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs
  • Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
  • Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
  • Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.
  • Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
