Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator sets up, programs, and operates CNC equipment to perform precision machining tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling. This role interprets blueprints and mechanical drawings, translates instructions into computer commands, and ensures that all parts meet quality and specification requirements within a busy machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare CNC machines for operation by setting up tools, fixtures, and materials according to job specifications.
  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and other machining processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other technical documents to understand job requirements and desired results.
  • Translate work instructions and part specifications into accurate computer commands and CNC programs.
  • Perform basic programming and adjustments on CNC machines to optimize performance and part quality.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers and hand tools to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Follow established fabrication processes and machining procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
  • Set up and operate lathes, mills, and other related machining equipment as required.

The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The shop environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and adherence to machining and fabrication processes, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and machining setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cumberland City, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
