Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Apprentice Level 4 Electrician to join an active data center construction project in Goodyear, AZ. This is a local, on-site position with no per diem - best suited for candidates already living in the Phoenix metro area. In this role, you will perform a full range of commercial and industrial electrical installation work in a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for roughing in conduit, pulling wire, terminating equipment, and supporting the startup and testing of electrical systems throughout the facility. Your craftsmanship will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of a data center that supports large-scale enterprise computing operations. This is high-visibility work that demands attention to detail, a strong understanding of the NEC, and the ability to execute efficiently alongside other skilled trades.
You will report to the electrical foreman on-site and work closely with journeymen, fellow apprentices, and subcontractor teams. The ideal candidate takes pride in their trade, shows up ready to work, and thrives in a structured, deadline-driven construction environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install conduit systems including EMT, rigid, and PVC in accordance with project drawings and NEC code requirements.
  • Pull, route, and terminate wire and cable including power, control, and low-voltage conductors.
  • Install and connect electrical panels, switchgear, PDUs, transformers, and associated equipment.
  • Perform rough-in and finish electrical work for mechanical equipment, lighting, and receptacle systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and specifications to execute work correctly.
  • Perform point-to-point testing, megger testing, and continuity checks on installed systems prior to energization.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities including equipment energization and functional testing.
  • Work under the direction of journeymen while taking on increasing levels of independent responsibility within your crew.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and adhere to all site safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Complete daily documentation including timesheets, material usage logs, and punch list items.
  • Coordinate with foremen, other trades, and the general contractor to maintain project schedule and quality standards.

Required Experience/Skills
  • Active enrollment as a Level 4 Apprentice Electrician in the state of Arizona (or recognized reciprocal apprenticeship standing).
  • Minimum 4+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
  • Proficiency in conduit bending, wire pulling, and equipment termination across a range of voltage levels.
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local code requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
  • Experience with medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety practices including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a larger crew in a fast-paced environment.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
  • Must be local to the Phoenix/Goodyear, AZ area - no relocation assistance or per diem provided.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Prior experience on data center, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical construction projects.
  • Familiarity with critical power systems including UPS, PDUs, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and generators.
  • Experience working within a structured commissioning process and completing Cx documentation.
  • Background working in a union or prevailing wage environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings to coordinate with other trades.

Education
High school diploma or GED required. Currently enrolled in a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program (Level 4, typically within the final year of a 4-5 year program). Additional technical training or coursework in electrical systems, power distribution, or construction management is a plus.
