Job Summary:

Supports the integration of digital pedagogy and scholarship in a library setting across a broad range of disciplines including the arts, humanities, engineering, management, and sciences by delivering tailored instructional sessions and workshops. Collaborates with faculty and students to introduce foundational digital research methods, project workflows, and emerging technologies into the academic environment. Serves as a liaison with departments. Provides initial project consultations, refers complex research requests to appropriate divisional subject experts, and develops foundational synchronous and asynchronous learning objects. Partners with colleagues across Library Services and DP&S to contribute to digital teaching, research, and technical initiatives.

Job Duties:

Reporting Relationships:
  • This role reports to the Associate Director, Digital Pedagogy and Scholarship

Work Setting/Schedule:
  • On campus, in person role with location flexibility during the summer months and during academic breaks

  • This is a full-time role (40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

What You Will Do:
  • Works with faculty to integrate digital pedagogy and scholarship methods and tools into course assignments. Provides in-class instruction where appropriate.

  • Serves as subject liaison for faculty and students in one or more disciplines and related interdisciplinary programs. Provides digital and information literacy instruction, research consultations, collection development and outreach.

  • Collaborates with other library staff, faculty, academic support departments and other departments, divisions and centers to provide relevant services and support for the campus community.

  • Contributes to the development and management of library collections through selections, weeding and other activities.

  • Engages in professional development activities to ensure knowledge of current and emerging trends, issues and best practices in supporting the campus community in scholarly and pedagogical endeavors.

  • Establishes and maintains positive professional relationships with relevant people and offices on campus, such as the Office of Accessibility Resources, the Teaching and Learning Center and the Writing Center.

What You Will Bring:Required:
  • ALA-Accredited Masters Degree in Library or Information Science

  • Knowledge Areas and Skills: Demonstrative effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills; Ability to write clear, accurate communication and other documentation

Preferred, but not required:
  • One (1) or more years of experience in Academic Librarianship and Digital Scholarship or related experience

  • Knowledge Areas and Skills: Demonstrated background or interest in learning technologies related to teaching and learning in the current and future Digital Pedagogy and Scholarship portfolio, especially data services and GIS technologies; Demonstrated background or interest in learning business librarianship; Demonstrated experience in teaching or training; Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment; Demonstrated commitment to promoting workplace inclusion.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
