Job Description:
This job is responsible for tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include creating infrastructure tools and their integration as a service, facilitating deployment of technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include looking for opportunities to improve efficiency when implementing and maintaining tools/services and embracing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the standup, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow's Discovery, Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and solutions to interface with other IT Service Management (ITSM) modules.
  • Review the integration of information into the CMDB from ServiceNow Discovery, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate discovery efforts across multiple regions.
  • Perform discoveries and trouble shoot access issues for discovery.
  • Leverage Management, Information and Discovery (MID) servers for integration and automation.
  • Ensure all organizational policies and procedures are followed for all processes and application improvement efforts.
  • Working directly with Data Stewards across IT regions and domains to coordinate scans and remediate issues.
  • Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Engineering (any), or related: and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • Must include 5 years of experience in each of the following: Utilizing knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB and understanding Discovery module of both ServiceNow and BMC Helix Discovery (ADDM);
  • Utilizing Unix and Windows scripting (Python, shell, PowerShell, JavaScript), Pattern Designer to collect and parse system data, build custom probes, and extend discovery patterns;
  • Understanding of SAN/NAS storage and TCP/IP Networking to perform accurate discovery, troubleshoot connectivity issues and model relationships in ServiceNow CMDB;
  • Utilizing troubleshooting across SSH, WMI, SNMP, JDBC, REST and cloud APIs;
  • Engineering, designing and developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform including integrations with third party APIs using SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON.
  • The Employer will accept 3 years of study toward a U.S. Bachelor's degree, plus 2 years of IT experience as meeting the degree requirement.
  • 10% domestic travel required, as necessary.
