Senior Data Engineer (Hiscox Inc., Atlanta, GA)

  • Serve as a core and professional member of our Data Engineering practice to build and operationalize complex data solutions, as well as apply transformations and data cleaning and data quality solutions.
  • Design, build support, and expand our Databricks cloud data platform for the business to enhance performance and functionality.
  • Develop data transformation pipelines using dbt.
  • As a senior data engineer in a squad of data engineers, take input on business requirements, refine development tasks, assess their complexity, and plan their delivery by a squad of contractor data engineers.
  • Research, evaluate, and adopt new technologies with optimal tools for the solution.
  • Ensure speed of delivery and quality of appropriate solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews for the Data Engineering practice.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for cloud data platform application and infrastructure.
  • Assess database performance and modify systems to improve performance.
  • Work with modern cloud data lake house technologies; data engineering (SQL/Python); Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; CI/CD; writing, testing, and deploying code using DevOps; DevOps Pipelines (Azure, AWS, or GCP); and, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members in Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field of study, plus five (5) years of experience with Databricks, dbt, modern cloud data lake house technologies; data engineering (SQL/Python); Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; CI/CD; writing, testing, and deploying code using DevOps; DevOps Pipelines (Azure, AWS, or GCP); and/or, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members in Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Salary: $160,056 - $170,000 per yr.
