Location: Rochester, NY office
Applications for the New York City office (Mass Torts and Industry Wide Litigation Practice Group) will be available in Fall 2026.
Applications for Class of 2029 students will be available in Winter 2026/2027.
At this time, we do not anticipate recruiting 2L Summer Associates for our other office locations. Should recruiting needs change, opportunities will be posted on our Careers page.
Description: Harris Beach Murtha is seeking Class of 2028 law students to participate in our 10-week summer program in our Rochester, NY office. Summer associates have the opportunity to work on writing and research assignments with a variety of practice areas, both litigation and transactional law. Each summer associate is paired with a partner and an associate mentor who offer guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program. Mentors also help associates navigate firm culture and identity opportunities to engage in professional and social activities.
Qualifications:
  • Class of 2028 J.D. student enrolled at an ABA accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials; Top 25% of their law school class preferred.
  • Law journal, review and/or moot court experience preferred.
  • Students should have an interest in starting their legal career in Rochester, NY.
