The Positionย 

Shermco Systems Integration is seeking anย Electrical Designer, which will be responsible for design of facilities, including power distribution and controls design in a competitive and engaging environment utilizing industry standard CAD and power studies software.ย

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:ย 

Safety:ย 

  • Establish/Maintain behaviors that demonstrate Safety as a Personal Core Valueย ย 

Design and Development:ย 

  • Design and develop control systems for various applications, including automation,ย semiconductor, and industrial processes.ย 
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.ย ย 

Arc Flash Studies:ย 

  • Conduct arc flash studies to identify potential hazards in electrical systems.ย ย 
  • Calculate incident energy at various points in the electrical system to determine the severity of potential arc flashes.ย ย 
  • Determine arc flash boundaries and hazard risk categories to establish safe working distances and procedures.ย 
  • Document findings, create one-line diagrams, and maintain records of arc flash studies and related activitiesย 

Installationย Support:ย 

  • Provide assistanceย in the installation of equipment and systems.ย 
Qualifications

Qualifications:ย 

  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD)ย orย Power Studyย Softwareย familiarity of any of the following is required:ย 
  • AutoCADย 
  • Revitย 
  • SKMย 
  • Microsoft Officeย 
  • Electrical Engineering degreeย or other Engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceย strongly preferred.ย 
  • 2+ year industrial experience preferred.ย 
  • Power and Controls experienceย preferred.ย 
  • Capability toย read electrical schematics, layouts and grid plans for pump stations and compressor facilities.ย 
  • Capability toย learn to develop effective,ย safe electrical diagrams.ย 
  • Ability to work safely, and an eagerness to contribute to a safety-focused team.ย 
  • Industry experienceย preferred:ย 
  • Semiconductor,ย Oil and Gas, Utilities, Agriculture, Metals, Mining, Paper, Data Centers, Health Care,ย Food and beverageย 
  • Must be flexible and willing to work out-of-town withย occasionalย overnight travelย 

Other Requirements:ย 

  • Strong preference for individuals who are able and willing to demonstrate their personal commitment to Safety.ย 
  • Must be able toย liftย upย to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodationsย 
  • Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when requiredย
