ABOUT THE JOB

The Applications Engineer provides in-house resources that support both Sales and Operations regarding project sales and project execution in house.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In-house support to outside sales personnel and sales representatives regarding equipment and services sale to clients and customers.
  • Create unity between divisional sales groups and market / proposal offerings for a consistent, unified sales approach.
  • Provide detail expertise to sales in process design, equipment selection and costing.
  • Respond and work with customers as directed by the assigned salesperson when required during the sales process.
  • Travel to customerโ€™s sites for review of plant layouts, equipment locations, process hook ups, moving and setting of equipment, etc.
  • Provide quick turn around with standard templates, costing files, data, process reports, etc.
  • Provide overview process documents (PFD, Basic Layout) and costing for sales revenue and margin review by the salesperson.
  • Provide specification review with comments & clarifications for basis of proposal and equipment offerings.
  • Provide contract review and T&C review for sales comment and/or inclusion in proposals.
  • Provide detailed costing breakdowns per equipment and disciplines for sales review and price / margin determination.
  • Operations / Engineering:
  • Provide process documents and costing that is transferable to operations / engineering for use at KO for project execution after the sale.
  • Complete and execute the KO meeting after the sale with support of outside salesperson.
  • All documents are compatible with current system ERP and Operations standards.
  • Include costing breakdowns for individual equipment offerings and each labor discipline, i.e. ME, MD, EE, ED, PM, Service, etc. This costing will be the basis for project execution limits and
  • Provide design guidance on equipment and systems as it pertains to the customer and their requirements against what was sold.
  • Provide client schedules and requirements for equipment and system lead times as it relates to what was sold per discipline, i.e. equipment shipments, site installation, service and startup.
  • Provide vendor quotes, skid and fabrication quotes, fab shop selections and freight and shipment quotes and details if required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of BS (in order of preference) Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Life Sciences / Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum 5 Years within the Water Treatment Industry or related Industry.
  • ย Skills:
    • Technical Expertise with ability to understand Mechanical, Electrical and Process requirements.
    • Hands on / field style aptitude.
    • Expert use of PC and electronic software and tools for design, calculations, charts, graphs, word, spread sheets, scheduling, process design, etc.
    • CAD Software ability in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
    • Excellent communicator in both spoken and created document formats.
    • Ability to work with many different people and personalities.
    • Detail oriented.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office is located on ground level.
  • Must operate office equipment, fax and or printer, and personal computer.
  • May stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift frequently from 4 to 6 hours each day.
  • May be required to carry or move equipment or parts in excess of 50 lbs. with the assistance of a lifting device.
  • Work requires close vision.

TRAVEL:

May be required to travel 15%-25% of the time.

COMPENSATION:ย $115k + bonus eligibility
